Hiroshima

Hiroshima is a major city in the Chugoku region, where more than one million people live. The first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and this city became known worldwide.
Another famous tourist destination in Hiroshima Prefecture is Miyajima. Miyajima, which is within an hour from Hiroshima City, is most famous for its huge torii that appears to float in water when high tide. The scene is ranked as one of the three major landscapes in Japan.
