The Kushiro-Akan Lake area with two national parks, is blessed with rich nature such as the Kushiro wetland, and it is a place where valuable flora and fauna and its ecology can be seen. In addition, at the Lake Akan, the indigenous people of Hokkaido live, and you can feel up close the Ainu culture.
It takes 1.5 hours from Haneda Airport to Tancho Kushiro airport, and takes 4 hours from Sapporo to Kushiro by train.

Because there were always energetic shouts “wasshoi, wasshoi” in the market (the pronunciation of “Wasshoi” is similar to “Washo” in Japanese), the market was named “Washo”, which means to trade harmoniously.
